Giľora: Songs of Czech Roma

This channel contains song recordings made by Ondřej Skovajsa, Ph.D. Most of the recordings consist of Romani songs recorded in the Czech Republic as part of the Gil'ora project of the EU Academy of the Czech Republic, other videos are filmed on the initiative of the association Giľora, z.s. The channel also contains recordings of non-Roma musicians made in Horná Mariková and Papradno, Veselí nad Moravou, Prague and elsewhere.

Recordings made as part of the Giľora project ("songs" in Romany) are also made available at a later date on www.gilora.cz, where they are also supplemented with song texts, portrait photos of the authors, etc. We are mainly interested in songs performed by good singers and musicians, but we do not search for primarily singers and musicians, for whom music production forms the basis of their livelihood.
