Gene Convery · Run & Ultra Coach

Smarter training for busy runners chasing big goals: your first marathon, a sub-3, or your first ultra.

I'm Gene, a running and ultra coach with 20+ years' experience, a qualified endurance sports nutritionist and a former elite triathlete. I'm also a 43-year-old dad of two training around a full-time job, so every plan here is built for real life. And I talk openly about men's wellbeing, because the head matters as much as the legs.

On this channel:
- Marathon and ultra training that fits around work and family
- Lactate threshold, VO2 max and heart rate zones, explained simply
- Race nutrition and gut training to stop the mid-race bonk
- Gear tested in real races
- Project Unbreakable: my road to Ultra X South Africa, 330 km across the Cederberg in October 2027
