Forgotten Motorcycle Engines

Welcome to Forgotten Motorcycle Engines — where we uncover the motorcycle engines that once defined an era, conquered the road, pushed engineering forward, and eventually disappeared.

From legendary V-twins and screaming inline-fours to two-strokes, V4s, turbocharged experiments, racing-derived engines, and forgotten mechanical oddities, we rank the machines that shaped motorcycle history.

Our Top 10, Top 20, and Top 30 countdowns go beyond horsepower and specifications. We explore why each engine was created, how it felt and sounded, why riders and mechanics loved or hated it, what made it special, and why it was eventually replaced, discontinued, or forgotten.

If you love motorcycle engines, vintage motorcycles, motorcycle history, engineering, classic bikes, legendary engines, and the stories behind the machines, you're in the right place.

These engines may be gone. Their stories shouldn't be.
