Flat Lap Rhythm Lab

Bass and cajon, both flipped completely flat, both face-up. No more wrist pain, no more forearm strain.

Welcome to a musical testing ground where rhythm, ergonomics, and behavioural data collide.

I'm coming back to music after decades away. A total beginner on both instruments, I'm testing whether my childhood Mridangam instinct can transfer to bass and cajon technique.

By day, I'm an academic experimental economist. By night, this is my research lab. Expect failed takes, questions I don't even know to ask yet, and a beginner's honest logbook.

Loving the midlife crisis!
