FIRE'd SG

Join me as I navigate the journey of getting laid off and trying to turn it into early retirement. (Fired to FIRE'd)

I'm a retrenched Singaporean putting my actual finances on camera: the payout, the tax bill, CPF, and the government schemes everyone tells you to apply for but nobody really explains (SkillsFuture Jobseeker Support, WSG, the whole alphabet soup). And the thing I keep poking at: can being forced into FIRE somehow turn into the real version?

I haven't got it figured out. Some months the numbers look okay, some months they're embarrassing, and I'm showing both.

If you've ever wondered how long your savings would actually last, or you're going through the same thing right now, stick around. New numbers every month. There's a runway calculator too, at imfiredsg.com.
