Fine Print Atlas

Every map has fine print. We read it.

Fine Print Atlas explains the strange details on maps: the borders that loop through rivers, the pieces of one state stranded inside another, the countries shaped like they lost an argument. One place per video, one question, and a real answer with sources.

You'll find:
• Weird borders, enclaves and exclaves
• Why a country, state or city is shaped (or placed) the way it is
• Map mistakes that became permanent
• Rivers, time zones and lines that make no sense until you see why

Every map is drawn from real public data (US Census Bureau, Natural Earth, OpenStreetMap), and every claim is sourced in the description.

New short every week. Follow for more maps that don't make sense.
