Filed Under Fire tells the untold stories of the Second World War: the heroes history forgot, and the epic battles they fought in.

Every battle is explained with clear maps that show where every unit stood, where it moved and why it mattered, told hour by hour with real film and photographs from the archives. From the beaches of Normandy to the carriers at Midway, from the jungle on Guadalcanal to the snow around Bastogne.

Every story is researched from the records: official histories, after-action reports, unit records and the men's own accounts. When the sources disagree, we tell you.

Here you'll meet the scouts, privates, pilots, diplomats and young lieutenants whose decisions changed the course of the war, and whose names most people never learned.
