Fifth Flower Hawaii

Aloha! I'm Sonya Seng, born and raised in Hawaii as the youngest of five girls in a Chinese-American family. Raised a nominal Catholic, I discovered God was real when I was 12. His love and power have saved and shaped me. I've been singing my whole life and have also enjoyed a career as a professional actress. In the 90s, my husband Jordan I and had a folk pop band in Chicago called "SENG." In 2022, I released my solo album, "Time Gives Way," featuring original songs about the uneven road of faith. Jordan and I pastor Bluewater Mission Church in Honolulu, a place full of freedom, grace and courage.

Fifth Flower Hawaii is a space for my reflections and stories rooted in faith, family, and place—the complexity of being a woman, a daughter, and a believer. You'll find archived original music alongside new reflections. Thanks for "talking story" with me.
