Felicia Talks History

Most of us hit the same wall at 1870 — the first census that named formerly enslaved people as individuals. Go back one step further and there's a tick mark in an age column under somebody else's name.

That wall is real. It is not the end of the record.

Every video here works from documents you can go and check yourself. Freedmen's Bureau files. Cohabitation registers. Probate inventories. The Dawes rolls. County deed books. Named, dated, and linked in the description so you can search them.

What you won't find here: invented statistics, surnames matched to African regions, or anything a DNA test can't actually tell you. Where the evidence is uncertain, this channel says so. Where a record was destroyed, it says that too.
