Evine's Talk

Hi, I’m Evine. Welcome to Evine’s Talk!

I share honest insights into learning and teaching English, creating learning materials, and learning at home—as an author, school owner, and father.

As Mr. Evine, I’ve written books for English learners for over 20 years. I’ve also spent nearly 20 years running English schools and tutoring centers, now with three locations in Kansai, Japan.

Expect practical advice for Japanese learners, a look behind the scenes of teaching and publishing, and thoughts on why some learners make progress while others get stuck.

As a father of two sons in high school, I also explore how parents can support their children’s learning while giving them room to grow.

Whether you’re learning English, teaching it, or supporting your child, you’re welcome here. Let’s open up more possibilities through English.
