Ensemble Du Verre (Official)

Since its founding in 2003 by composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Sönke Düwer, Ensemble Du Verre has stood for a distinctive sound that navigates between jazz, electronic music, and songcraft. With changing line-ups featuring musicians from Germany and abroad—including Ursula Rucker, Sidsel Endresen, and Bugge Wesseltoft—the project has developed an eclectic, poetic style that blends spatial concepts, structural clarity, and improvisation.
With albums such as Sanctuary for Animals (German Record Critics’ Award), The Contemporary Cowboy (2011, “CD of the Week” on NDR), Rooms (2016, “CD of the Week” on WDR), and Lost in Your Garden (2026), Ensemble Du Verre has continued to solidify its position as one of the most compelling voices in contemporary jazz. Numerous EPs, remixes, and international collaborations further expand its body of work.
