Empowering The Teen Spirit WC

This channel is dedicated to empowering the mental health of teens and families. Teens of African and Indigenous descent are at the heart of this channel's Ministry. Every teen of other ethnic descents are welcomed and served.

My personal journey as a child, not having the resources to assist with my mental health due to culture and religion, had my illness undetected, even to me. I had to find my own resources, being my own rescue. With no support, my depression and anxiety grew with me into adulthood, leading to suicidal thoughts.

Young people aged 15 to 24 are more likely to experience mental illness than any other group. In Canada, 50% of students experience bullying (in the past month) and/or fighting (in the past year).

While girls and boys are equally at risk of bullying, girls are more likely to become victims of psychological forms of bullying, and boys are more at risk of physical violence and threats.
