Daphne El Peregrino

EL PEREGRINO is a border artist born out of the committed, simple and mystical music that roams the streets of Port-au-Prince. According to the “Ouest-France” journal, the songwriter, composer and singer, transmits surprising and touching emotions when he is on stage. His musical story starts from the Gospel music where the terms of sacred, devotion are strongly present and continued during his university studies between 2008 and 2014, when he met genres like folkloric songs of his country, jazz and opera. Around the year 2013, encouraged by one of his mentors, the great haitian singer Emeline Michel, he developed the ability to write and compose for himself. From this, he released a first single in 2015 titled “An n pran yon Chans” (Let’s take a chance), that is a kind of call addressed to his fellows Haitians, for a solidarity movement.
