Efren D Contreras Marta - EDCM Music

Efren D. Contreras Marta has been composing music since 2005 by writing music for student films using sampled electronic sounds and in 2008 transitioned to writing full written scores for small orchestral groups. In 2012, he was honored by the Chamber Orchestra of New York's Ottorino Respighi Prize for his original 5 piece string composition, El Violinista de la Tercera Norte (The Violinist of North 3rd Street). He currently works on projects for middle school and high school wind ensemble, orchestra, jazz ensembles, and marching band. On January 9th, 2025, he released his first catalog of original jazz tracks on the eclectic album, "Yellow Pin Striped Suit". His inspiration to write all music derives from creating images musically from stories told by people everyday; the same as ballet tells a story through dance and motion. Enjoy the sights through sounds that are integrated in all the pieces.
