 In Some Corner of the Arribes

Curious things that we have in this corner of the arrivals. We are located in the most northwestern area of ​​the province of Salamanca. From here we can see Portugal (Bemposta), Zamora (Fermoselle¨) and even Peña de Francia (Salamanca) on days with a clear horizon.

A consciously depopulated area. That reduces its population by leaps and bounds, and only for a few days in August, life returns to these small towns, to come winter, fall back into the most absolute abandonment.

Clear example of depopulation, in which living here is complicated.

Its landscapes, its stones, its gorges, its birds remain impassive, while the vegetation in some cases grows excessively due to the lack of cleanliness of the plots that are not dedicated to extensive livestock.

It is also observed how some areas of trees are drying up and falling.

There is everything. Arribes, a place to live in peace, but also to die in peace.
