Duke: The Untold West

They called him the Duke. What they did not call him was Marion - the name he was born with, and the first of many things he had to leave behind.

This channel tells the stories behind America's most recognizable cowboy: the decade of forgotten B-westerns before Stagecoach, the director who made him and broke him, the roles he turned down and the one he never stopped answering for, the set where he carried an injured stuntman off himself, and the last film he made knowing it would be the last.

Carefully researched, told without noise, for the generation that grew up watching him ride - and for anyone who wants the man behind the walk.

New stories every week.
