We are a passionate study group of ancient irrigation systems and the ecology in the dry zone of Sri Lanka. We have been researching on this study area for more than two decades. We were fascinated by the way that our ancestors managed water, soil and other natural resources to fulfill the human needs while sustainably developing their economy. We are in an attempt to develop and adapt our knowledge on historical methods of sustainable development to face the environmental crisis of the contemporary world. Apart from that, we have been striving to conserve the biological diversity of the dry zone of Sri Lanka and have been developing a mechanism to protect nature in our surrounding area. Our tortoise conservation project is one of them.  
We,  IDEAES are yearning to share ancient knowledge of our forefathers with anybody who is interested to save the planet Earth.
