Only God knows what's behind those fake smiles and accolades that appear with a purpose.  Some church-going con artists and thieves operate foolishly in their corruption for all to see. Which has actually been our case from the beginning.  These thieves decided to strike once they felt the time was right; showing no sensitivity to those affected.  And motivated by greed and selfish gain they launched their diabolical plan without any fear of God.
