Diary of an Elephant Orphan (& other rescue tales)

STREAMING 12 Aug 2025. Through filmmaker Hermien’s lens, comes the story of "Diary of an elephant orphan" an independent documentary. The film shows the daily struggles of getting Khanyisa, a little orphan elephant, healthy and strong enough to get her back to her own kind. She’ll never be able to go back to her own family so the next best thing is a surrogate herd. But the team has to face new challenges daily as this hasn’t been done before with such a young baby... Hermien Roelvert-van Gils spent months filming with the team on the ground to capture the events to bring you this intimate and heartfelt story. 

As a bonus, this channel shows many of the out-takes that didn't make it into the final cut of the film.
