Detours:  Understanding Acquired Brain Injury

The purpose of this channel is to educate Survivors that are new to the world of brain injury and family members about Acquired Brain Injury and the pathophysiology of trauma and disease that leads to brain injury.  
     We will discuss non-invasive imaging and how it works and what is shows.  There will be videos on the different techniques used in rehabilitation to help Survivors through the recovery process and various agencies to whom they may turn for assistance.  
     There will be some interviews from Survivors and they will share their experiences.  We will address symptoms of various disorders that emerge after ABI such as CTE and post traumatic seizure disorder and post-concussive syndrome and SIADH.  We will also be discussing medications used to treat ABI and alternative treatments and new research which is providing hope for the future.  Its a broad topic and we
