Department of Chemical & Process Engineering, University of Peradeniya is a pioneer in producing multi-discipline engineers. The department over the years has ensured undergraduates are well trained and prepared to tackle the growing challenges in the 21st century.
A major part of this journey is through the delivery of a globally recognized, team‐based project‐centered curriculum. Focusing on project work, and integrated with teaching and learning activities, the curriculum is designed to mirror the professional practices.
The graduates of the department are proficient in the knowledge and skills required for sustainable process industry, energy technology, environmental pollution control, air conditioning, combustion and emission technology.
The department also provides the knowledge, understanding and skills required for the use of appropriate mathematical techniques, equipment, and pertinent software or appropriate programming language in solving real life problems.
