Once upon a time in the cold north, there was a seer who tried to control the forces of nature to destroy her enemies. But instead she opened a rift in time and space. The sky tore first. Then the ground. Then the old boundary between worlds, thin as it always was, gave out completely.

Where Yggdrasil's roots had once held two realms apart, they clutched now at something new. Frost fused to sun-scorched sand, gunpowder tangled with rune-fire, a longship keel dragging through desert dust instead of fjord water. The Viking north and the Wild West merged together.

Out of that wreckage came something that had not existed in either world before, not Viking, not lawman, not fully anything the old tongues had a word for.
