Awake & Sober: The Dad & Joe Show

Awake & Sober: The Dad & Joe Show is a podcast that encourages dads and sons to have weekly conversations about important life issues to keep us awake and sober. Each episode we talk for about 20 minutes about a specific topic, and the show notes include discussion prompts for you to continue the conversation. The podcast is hosted by father and son team, David and Joe Sluka. David is a dad in his fifties and Joe is a teenager in high school. Together we tackle topics like emotional health, vision, shame, openness to perspective, sobriety, mercy, friendships, forgiveness, appetites, and faith.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 18.4 million children, 1 in 4, live without a biological, step, or adoptive father in the home. Children who have dads that are present and engaged have better overall emotional and social well-being. So if you're a dad, step-dad, or male mentor, set aside time each week to listen to an episode, talk, and pray together. Involved dads make a difference.
