Cuts by Guido

Paper. Scissors. Patience.

Cuts by Guido is about the slow, precise art of cutting newspaper images by hand — sometimes down to the smallest buildings, branches, spokes, faces and tiny details.

Every image comes from newspaper 'Leidsch Dagblad', using photographs and illustrations covering everything from local stories to world news.

Many cuts take 20, 30 or even 60 minutes to complete. No machines, no shortcuts. Just scissors, paper and patience.

Watch full real-time precision cutting sessions, satisfying close-ups, ASMR scissor sounds and the final reveal when the image is completely separated from the newspaper.

The cuttings are later combined into handmade collages, where fragments of existing reality are rearranged to create a new reality — unexpected scenes, strange connections and entirely new meanings.

Precision cutting. Impossible details. Handmade collage art. A new reality from old images.
