The Cutaway Engineer

Engineering, cut open. The Cutaway Engineer explains machine design, materials and failure analysis with 3D animation: bolts, gears, beams, columns, bearings, welds, heat, fluids and the tools engineers actually use (FEA, CFD, GD&T). Every video builds a part on screen, cuts it open, loads it until it fails, and shows the one thing most engineers get wrong about it.

Made by Engr. Ajaz, a practising mechanical design engineer (MS Mechanical Engineering, CSWP) working in injection moulding DFM, CAD, FEA and CFD. Every script, 3D animation and narration on this channel is original work produced for the channel, rendered in Blender and Python from its own parts library.

New videos every Tuesday and Friday. For engineering students, working engineers, product designers, and anyone who wants to know why things break.
