CTBiomed is led by Professor Thomas K. Karikari, a global expert in fluid biomarker assay development and validation supported by a multidisciplinary team with diverse expertise and experience. The center focuses on accelerating discoveries from bench to bedside and into the communities where better health is most needed. We unite laboratory science, clinical partnerships, and data-driven methods to transform rigorous research into practical tools: early diagnostics, prevention strategies, and equitable models of care Our work sits at the intersection of neurodegeneration and cardio-metabolic health, with a special focus on how mid-life cardiovascular risk shapes late-life brain outcomes. From blood-based biomarkers for Alzheimer's and related dementias to real-world implementation studies, we design research that answers questions patients and clinicians face every day.
