CityEons

Watch the world's great cities grow. From their earliest settlements to the metropolises of today.

CityEons creates cinematic 3D timelapses of urban history. In just a few minutes, centuries pass before your eyes as cities rise, expand, burn, rebuild and transform.

With a background in History from the University of Greifswald and Computer Science from Stralsund University of Applied Sciences, CityEons is where I combine both worlds: historical research, 3D visualization, maps and data - to bring cities & their history to life.

Every city is built on real geodata – terrain, rivers, streets and buildings – and reconstructed using historical maps, archaeology, population records and other historical sources. Landmarks are modelled to real-world dimensions wherever possible, while dates and figures are carefully researched and fact-checked.

No AI imagery. No narration. Just the city, the years and the music in 4K.

The journey began with London, with many more cities to come.
