Ciconia – The Hague String Orchestra

Ciconia – The Hague String Orchestra turns every concert into an experience. With daring thematic programs and a high level of performance, the orchestra connects music with theatre, literature and science, often inspired by current themes.

Founded in 2012 and led by conductor and artistic director Dick van Gasteren, Ciconia is an international ensemble of 20 young top musicians. Ciconia regularly brings unknown masterpieces to the stage, with a strong focus on 20th-century music and Dutch premieres. The orchestra collaborates with leading soloists, writers and academics, and has released five internationally acclaimed CDs on Brilliant Classics.
