The main activity of the G. Chubinashvili National Research Centre for Georgian Art History and Heritage Preservation is the study of the history of Georgian art, works of art created in Georgia and abroad; fundamental academic research and survey of architecture, sculpture, wall and easel painting, graphics, applied and decorative works of art, their groups, artistic-historical events and the current processes in Georgian culture in general. One of the important directions in the activity of the Centre is also the popularization of Georgian art, which is actively carried out through publishing activities as well as exhibitions and public lectures.
