Choosing Wisely initiative aims to Improve the quality and safety of care delivered to the patients through the reduction of waste, unnecessary tests, and procedures by improving communication between patients and healthcare providers. By focusing on implementing the best practices guidelines.

Choosing Wisely Saudi Arabia initiative was launched by the Ministry of Health in 2019. And now it is a collaboration between Saudi Patient Safety Center and Ada’a Program. The vision of the initiative is that healthcare services should be safe, effective, efficient, patient-centered, and to ensure providing the appropriate level of services based on scientific research. Moreover, there is evidence that the current delivery of health care services in Saudi Arabia includes unnecessary waste of resources.
