Centre for the Humanities and Medicine, HKU

The Centre for the Humanities and Medicine was established in 2009 as a joint initiative between the Faculty of Arts and the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine at HKU. Based in Hong Kong, it bridges East and West through interdisciplinary research, education, and community engagement. We forge partnerships with academic, clinical, and corporate sectors, as well as community members, to advance health and well-being. By connecting diverse perspectives and expertise, we promote impactful collaborations both locally and globally. Through our meaningful research, we aim to address contemporary health challenges and contribute to the global dialogue in medical humanities and medicine. The Centre has been relaunched under new leadership in 2026 and will introduce exciting new activities.
