“A Family Dedicated to Service” is not just Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services’ slogan, but our way of life and business since 1928 when T.R. Chiles left the farmlands of Ada/Alger. He moved into Lima, joining his sister-in-law, thereby becoming the first Chiles to enter the funeral profession. T.R. quickly developed a reputation for service, compassion and fairness with modern facilities and innovations new to the Lima area. The business grew rapidly and so did the “family” with the addition of two sons, Russ and Harold, and a son-in-law, Howard Laman. Currently the company, now the oldest and largest funeral business in the entire Lima area, is owned and operated by the third generation of the Chiles and Laman families. They, the funeral directors, and the entire staff associated with Chiles-Laman remain committed to that slogan, that way of life that began so many years ago - A Family Dedicated to Service.
