Who We Are - From Trauma to Healing 

Children’s Advocacy Center of Smith County exists to minimize the trauma children face when they have been victimized by physical and sexual abuse, or have witnessed a violent crime. We are part of a multidisciplinary team, including Law Enforcement Agencies and Department of Family and Protective Services, that works to ensure each child has the opportunity to tell their story to a specially-trained Forensic Interviewer, receive advocacy and resources, medical attention and therapy, all at no cost to the children or their families. We offer free Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to our clients and safe family members, helping them heal after experiencing the hurt and damage that often accompanies exposure to violence. Other programs include the Rainbow Room Emergency Resource Center, Community Education in schools for kids across Smith County and the Trauma-Informed Schools training project.
