Few people truly understand the complexity of the role, and it’s easy to question yourself along the way. Happily, the capabilities that make great Chiefs of Staff — self-awareness, strategic thinking, influence, and strong relationships — can be developed. 

I bring nearly 20 years of experience across strategy consulting and industry, including my own time as a Chief of Staff. I’ve written McKinsey articles on the role, coached and interviewed almost 100 Chiefs of Staff, and experienced many of the challenges firsthand.
