Chas Welch | Editorial & Storytelling Portfolio

I’m a journalist, writer and editor with 30 years of television news experience, including 20 years at CNN International.

My work centers on finding the story inside complex information and turning it into clear, compelling narratives that connect with audiences.

Across the stories featured here, I developed the editorial approach, wrote the scripts, selected soundbites and video, collaborated with on-air talent on standups and voicing, and worked with editors to shape the final pieces.

My experience spans breaking news, politics, business, culture and international affairs. I bring sharp news judgment, strong writing, editorial rigor and a deep understanding of what makes a story matter.

I’m now applying that experience to the next generation of storytelling, including AI, enterprise technology, editorial strategy and corporate communications.

This channel is an example of how I approach stories: find the point, make it clear, and give people a reason to care.
