Center for Assistive Technology Training (CATT)

The Center for Assistive Technology Training (CATT) is a collaboration between the American Printing House for the Blind (APH) and the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB). There are two regional CATT programs that provide support for the United States and territories:
- CATT (Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind, AIDB): Central and Southeast regions
- CATT Northwest (Washington State School for the Blind, WSSB): West coast and Northeast regions
Our mission is to provide assistive technology and related training using a "train the trainer" model, with a focus on providing support/training for teachers and parents of blind and low vision students, including those with additional disabilities and deafblindness. We primarily support a curated list of assistive technology and resources from the American Printing House for the Blind (APH). Access technology trainers are employed through each regional program. The CATT program exists thanks to a federal appropriation and AIDB.
