Carey & Co

Growth Is a People Story is a podcast for nonprofit leaders who are trying to build organizations—and save the world—at the same time.

Hosted by Christy Fitzpatrick, Chief Growth Officer and Partner at Carey & Co, the show explores the human realities behind organizational growth: the tradeoffs, the pressure, the quiet doubt, and the people decisions that shape everything else. Through candid conversations with nonprofit CEOs, executives, and sector leaders, Christy goes beyond theory and best practices to talk about what growth actually feels like.

Each episode centers on the truth that growth isn’t just about strategy, funding, or scale—it’s about people. The ones making impossible decisions, holding mission and metrics in the same breath, and trying to lead with values in systems that don’t always support them.

This is a space for honesty over jargon, clarity over hustle culture, and leadership that acknowledges the emotional labor of trying to do good in a broken world.
