Canovaccio

Canovaccio is a stage for characters who think for themselves, and you are the director. Cast a troupe, set the scene, and call the shots; the actors improvise the dialogue live, playing off each other and not just off you. Hear them speak as the scene unfolds, each in a distinct voice.

Drop your cast into a situation and play it out one beat at a time, or stage a full script from a premise, the classics, or your own material. Take an actor aside for a one-on-one audition. Coach, add a beat, or call Cut! and take it again. Bring friends into the room and improvise a scene with them live.

Argue with Socrates. Run a tavern full of NPCs before session night. Find out whether two characters have chemistry before you write the book. Or improvise for the joy of it; curiosity is reason enough. Wrap the show, keep it, or publish it to the Showcase, where watching is free.

The characters and voices in these videos are generated performances, directed live in the app.
