Chamba Animal Care Center Ladakh

Chamba Animal Care Center works to ease the suffering of Ladakh’s stray animals.

Our shelter was founded under the guidance of H.E. Thiksey Rinpoche on land donated by Thiksey monastery, and the shelter was inaugurated in July 2024.

Currently home to over 300 dogs (and soon to be bulls and donkeys in need), we believe in giving a voice to the voiceless and being a force for compassion in the Himalayas.
