Founded on April 27, 2001, by K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), formerly known as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), has carved a distinctive place in India’s political landscape.
From leading a historic movement to shaping a progressive governance model, BRS embodies the aspirations, resilience, and identity of Telangana. The party spearheaded the struggle for statehood and emerged as the unwavering voice of the people, championing their rights, dignity, and development.
Under the visionary leadership of KCR, Telangana’s first Chief Minister, BRS united diverse sections of society in a determined and sustained movement that culminated in the realization of the Telangana dream.
Following state formation, the BRS government introduced transformative welfare initiatives and landmark development projects, laying the foundation for a model of growth that is inclusive, balanced, sustainable, and people-centric.
