Britt Foundation

Chris Brittingham was always ready for a challenge. When faced with a seemingly impossible challenge, rather than turn around in defeat, Chris would look the challenge in the eye and say “Bring it on”. Chris demonstrated this attitude while deployed in Gaum. One day, Chris saw a tree at the top of a mountain, and decided to run to the tree and back. When Chris’s teammates said it would take too long, Chris’s response was “Ten minutes. Easy.” Chris took off and sprinted up the mountain, crossing a stream and scrambling over rocks to reach the top. He returned exhausted and totally spent. Although Chris did not make it there and back in ten minutes, his attitude and mentality of pushing himself to his limits inspires us to be bold in the face of adversity. The Britt Challenge was created to encourage us to push ourselves in the same way that Chris pushed himself.
