Born on the Trail

Born on the Trail is a thinking space for trail runners who want to train with more clarity, confidence & intent.

It grew out of the conversations that happen deep into a long run - questions about training, performance & how to make sense of conflicting advice. This is where those ideas are explored openly using science, experience & critical thinking rather than dogma or hype.

I write & speak as someone practising the sport, not standing above it. I explore ideas out of genuine curiosity, then translate what I find into principles runners can apply within their own context. The aim isn’t to provide more information, but to support clearer thinking & better judgement.

Coaching is a natural extension of this work. Not as rigid prescription, but as individual oversight, helping runners sanity-check their approach, navigate uncertainty & progress without losing perspective. Born on the Trail exists to reduce confusion, avoid dead ends & help athletes move forward with confidence.
