During these shifting global times, I believe the artistry of Japanese Butoh serves a higher purpose.  Born of destruction & the need for healing following WWII, its powerful potential to raise awareness on the most intimate, personal level creates a higher vibrational surge of energy.  We teach by example and, while training my 4 dancers, I've learned that it takes a lot of struggle & desire to dig below the surface.  The ability to tenaciously dig deeper & deeper is no easy picnic.  The break-through moment comes when one realizes that we are so much more than our physical form.  It is here that we're able to connect with others as spiritual beings.  Butoh is a process of peeling away the many layers before we find that place of truth & honesty--within ourselves; with others; with the world & beyond.  Hence the name "OnenessButoh".
