Blades Banter Michigan football 

Dad (Bob) and son (Robbie) share more than a family bond — we share the legacy of wearing the maize and blue of the Michigan Wolverines.

Bob(Blade) played for Michigan from 1971-73, lettering on three Big Ten championship teams. After his playing days, he returned to his alma mater as an assistant coach from 1974-86, carrying forward the tradition of excellence he learned under legends of the program. Ending up as a position coach for the great Anthony Carter. 

Robbie followed in his footsteps, joining the Wolverine roster in 2006 as a fullback (No. 25) from Ann Arbor’s Pioneer High School. His time on the 11-2 Michigan team gave him a lifelong respect for the grind, locker-room culture, and the generational bond between players and coaches. After his playing career, Robbie carried that passion into coaching—serving as an assistant coach at Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan, where he helped mentor young athletes both on and off the field.
