Bounceworks Laboratory

Two long-running projects, built from scratch and shown working on real hardware.

Reggie-16 is a 16-bit CPU I designed and built from 7400-series logic and GALs, with ideas from the PDP-11 and from ARM. It runs Ken, my re-creation of UNIX Sixth Edition, with a C compiler on the machine itself, Turbo Pascal, BASIC, Forth and Zork. Those videos cover the boards, the instruction set and the software. Addy, Reggie's 8-bit predecessor, is here too.

Hopper is a modern language for small devices, with semicolons and curly braces like C# or Java, running on the 65C02, the RP2040 and the RP2350. These videos cover developing in it and for it: the language, the runtime and the tools. Still needs to be ported to Reggie-16 ..
