Bea Asurmendi

Basque-born, London-based vocalist and composer who blends contemporary jazz with Basque and Iberian folk roots. Her debut album "Asteartea", sung in Basque, Spanish, and English, explores womanhood through goddess mythology, weaving rich harmonies, evocative storytelling, and improvisation.

A Guildhall School of Music & Drama graduate with Distinction in Jazz Singing and recipient of the Help Musicians UK's Next Level Award, Bea has performed at leading UK venues including Pizza Express Jazz Club, the 606 Club, and the EFG London Jazz Festival for two consecutive years. She opened for Ari Hoenig in 2023 and returned in 2024 for a sold-out headline show. In Spain, she has shared stages with Judit Neddermann and IDOIA at venues such as Teatro Lara and Teatro Victoria Eugenia.

Praised for her “bold affirmation of a unique personality,” Bea is a rising cross-cultural voice, defined by emotional depth and fearless vulnerability.
