ARMA (Authentic Roots In Martial Arts)

About us: ARMA draws its inspiration from Eastern or Asian Martial Arts (MAs) history, scholarly interpretations, genealogical accounts, and experts in the field of MAs. A common goal is shared by the practitioners of MA, that of studying and enriching their knowledge at whatever stage of their journey to enlightenment (Fodoshin).  

 Purpose: To break down and analyze MA forms and movements and extract fighting techniques through a conceptual understanding, knowledge transference, and application of context-awareness. ARMA, led by MAs trained in multiple disciplines, is interested in the concept of the biomechanics of fighting yet unrestricted by one particular style. They seek the freedom to follow their chosen path (Do) by understanding the basic concepts of space-time and matter relative to one's environment and abilities. They hold the basic tenet of the 'Art of War' with its core philosophical message that dealing with conflict and overcoming battles in life starts within.
