Årӕdygg (official)

The sonic framework of Occulta Poetica crystallized in 2025 during the recording sessions for the debut album of the same name by the project Årӕdygg.

Unlike Symphonic Black Metal, which often utilizes orchestral elements for melodic drive, Occulta Poetica employs them primarily for atmospheric texture, often prioritizing the sonic interpretation of specific literary works over traditional song structures.

The genre is distinct from "Ritual" or "Orthodox" Black Metal in that it is described as undogmatic. While the lyrical content is heavily steeped in the occult, referencing a vast array of traditions such as Thelema, Hermeticism, Voodoo, Necromancy, Alchemy, the genre treats these subjects as literary and philosophical explorations rather than religious instruction.
