Driveway Confidential (the OG Vehicle Hunter)

I love vehicles, buying them , driving them , having others fix/maintain them, documenting my interaction with them, and usually rehoming them with someone who can love them better than I can. I came of age as a driver in the late 80's/early 90's, a golden age for Japanese cars. I spent an inordinate amount of time reading my friend's Dad's automotive magazines, which were in their heyday. We were knee deep in the pages of Car and Driver, Road and Track, Motor Trend (in that order) and occasionally a Consumer Reports Buying guide. This explains why I gravitate toward Japanese vehicles of the era. Acura was created and launched the Integra and Legend. Lexus was born as Toyota's luxury brand. The LS400 put the European automakers on notice that Lexus was now a contender and quite possibly the new benchmark for luxury sedans. Nissan was hitting it's high point with the BMW 3 series knockoff Sentra SE-R. It's Maxima (4DSC-4 door sports car) was one of the sexiest sedans around.
