Ha'Alshich HaKadosh's Commentary on the Torah

The book "Torat Moshe" (The Torah of Moses) was written by Rabbi Moshe Alshich, known by all as "Ha'Alshich HaKadosh" (The Holy Alshich). Rabbi Moshe Alshich, zichrono livracha (may his memory be a blessing), lived during the time of Rabbeinu Ha'Ari (Rabbi Isaac Luria) and was the teacher of Rabbi Chaim Vital in Nigleh (the revealed Torah).

The commentary of the Alshich is unique in that on one hand, it adheres deeply to the plain meaning (Peshat) and is meticulous even with the letters, while on the other hand, it freely roams the world of Drash (homiletics), Remez (allusion), and Sod (secret/mysticism), encompassing the entire Pardes (orchard) of Torah – its four levels of interpretation.

All the lessons are dedicated to the elevation of the souls of: my grandmother, Mrs. Esther bat Rachel, zichrona livracha, who passed away on the 7th of Elul , and my late grandfather, Yaakov ben Avigail, zichrono livracha, who passed away on the 3rd of Adar .
